On February 10 2010, at 11 a.m., an on-line conference entitled «International Holding Structures for Ukrainian Business» took place on the LIGA:ZAKON portal. Andriy Vyshnevsky, Senior Partner, Head of Restructuring and Corporate Law Practice, and Roman Ognevyuk, Counsel, acted as experts in the conference and answered questions posed by the participants.

IBA Leadership Made an Official Visit to Ukraine

On November 15-17 2009 the International Bar Association (IBA) leadership made an official visit to Ukraine. The IBA delegation included Fernando Pelaez-Pier, the IBA President and partner of Hoet Pelaez Castillo & Duque (Venezuela); Dr Hendrik Haag, the Head of the Legal Practice Division and partner of Hengeler Mueller (Germany); Tomasz Wardynski, Council Member of the Public and Professional Interest Division, founder and partner of Wardynski & Partners, (Poland); and Vasiliy Rudomino, Co-Chief of the European Forum and senior partner of ALRUD law firm (Russia). ENGARDE co-hosted the visit of the IBA delegation to Ukraine and actively participated in the events organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association in this regard.

The Round Table on Criminal and Penitentiary Proceedings

On 11-12 November 2009 the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group, with support of the German Embassy in Ukraine, held a seminar "International Standards in Criminal and Penitentiary Proceedings" for judges of local courts of the Kharkiv Region. The event was held in the premises of the Kharkiv Regional Court of Appeal. Ivan Lishchyna, a counsel with ENGARDE, participated in the seminar and delivered a presentation entitled "The Right to Fair Trial in Criminal Procedure".
